In the following important information about Jumma is being provided.
What is Jummah
The word Jumu'ah is derived from the Arabic word al-jam’ which means to gather or congregation. In the terminal sense, Jumma is a particular day in the week which has virtue over other days according to the Sharia of Islam. Imam Muslim has narrated a Hadith from the Prophet peace be upon him in which he is reported to say that “Jummah is the best of other days. On this day Hazrat Adam peace be upon him was created, on this day he was given entry to heaven, on this day he was expelled from heaven and sent to Earth and on this day the day of judgment will take place.”
Jummah Prayer Time
Jummah prayer is very significant under Islamic Shariah. Allah Almighty says in Surah al-Jum’ ah that “Oh you the believers when you are called for the prayer on Friday, do hurry up for the prayer and halt the sales. That is good for you if you know.” On the basis of this verse, the jurists say that it is makrūh for a Muslim to carry on trading after adān on Friday. The Friday prayer time is that of the Zohr prayer on other days.
Jummah Prayer Rules
There are many rules specific to the day of Jummah. In the following, some of these rules are being explained.
