Good Health and the Importance of Duas

Health and well being are desirable for every human being. However, Allah has created humans in a way that they are susceptible to getting injured and sustaining illnesses. Hence, we must always be wary of our health and take great care to stay healthy and well. However, we can’t always avoid illnesses. If we contract any such illnesses, we must react in an appropriate manner. We can take the usual precautions, but we should also remember Allah during these tough times and pray to Him.

The Prophet (PBUH) defined some duas that we can recite when faced with illnesses:

Dua For Good Health
Recite when faced with illnesses

· Adh hib il-ba’s. Rabbi l-naas. Wash fi anta al Shaafi. Laa shifaa’a illa shifaa ’uka shifaa ’an. Laa yughaadir saqaman.

· Say “Bismillah” thrice, then say seven times: “A’oo dhu Bil laahi. Wa qudra tihi. Min sharri ma wa uhaa dhir.”

· Asal Allah Al ‘Azeema. Rabb al ‘Arshil ‘Azeem. An Yash fiya ka.

· Surah al-Falaq and Surah an-Nas are two common surahs for healing.

· The ruqyah is another highly recommended method of healing. For this, we must recite things such as Surah Fatiha, 4 Quls, Ayat al-Kursi, and the last two verses of Surah al-Baqarah.

The Healing verses in the Quran are six as follows:

  1. Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) says:

Fight them; Allah will punish them by your hands and will disgrace them and give you victory over them and satisfy the breasts of a believing people. [At-Tawba _ (9:14)]

2. Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) says:

O mankind there has come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the breasts and guidance and mercy for the believers. [Yunus _ (10:57)].

3. Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) says:

Say, [O Muhammad], “Travel through the land and observe how was the end of the criminals.” [Nahl _(16:69)].

4. Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) says:

And We send down of the Qur’an that which is healing and mercy for the believers, but it does not increase the wrongdoers except in loss. [Isra _ (17:82)].

5. Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) says:

And when I am ill, it is He who cures me. [Ash-shu’araa _ (26:80)].

6. Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) says:

And if We had made it a non-Arabic Qur’an, they would have said, “Why are its verses not explained in detail [in our language]? Is it a foreign [recitation] and an Arab [messenger]?” Say, “It is, for those who believe guidance and cure.” And those who do not believe — in their ears is deafness, and it is upon them blindness. Those are being called from a distant place. [Fussilat _(41:44)].

Ayat al-Kursi

Ayat al-Kursi is regarded as one of the most powerful ayahs in the Quran because when it is recited, the greatness of God is believed to be confirmed. the significance and purpose of the Sunnah and Hadith. The Sunnah refers to the sayings and practices of the Prophet Muhammad and is the second source of knowledge for Muslims. Muhammad is considered to be a perfect model.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

“If one recites Ayatul Kursi before going to sleep, Allah will send an Angel to come and look after you and protect you.”

One who recites Ayatul Kursi after every prayer, their Prayer will be accepted, and they will remain in the safety of Allah Almighty and He will protect them.

Read and Listen 4 Quls

All Muslims are endorsed to recite the subsequent Surahs. If they’re recited regularly, a Muslim gets a dual prize and unique 4 Qul virtues and benefits. Behind every Surah’s disclosure, there’s a selected motive with twin rewards.

Benefits Of Surah Al-Baqarah (The Cow)

The Holy Quran, is the longest surah of the Holy Book, containing 286 verses. Allah begins the surah with a strong statement, saying that the Quran is the Book regarding which there is no uncertainty, which guides the God-conscious people. This is an emphatic statement regarding the importance and authenticity of Allah’s word.

Hadith about the benefits of reciting Surah al-Baqarah

The Prophet (PBUH) described the benefits of Surah al-Baqarah. In a Sahih Hadith found in both Bukhari and Muslim, he said that reciting the last two ayahs of Surah al-Baqarah at night will suffice us. Another Hadith also states that no devil will come near a home where these verses are regularly recited.

Surah Fatiha

Surah Fatiha is most commonly recommended for recovery from diseases. One has to recite it 41 times between sunnah and obligatory Fajar prayer. Keep a glass of water and every time you recite the surah blow on to water. After 41 times reciting surah. drink that water and keep doing so for 41 days.

Conclusion

Health is from Allah alone, and it is entirely possible that He may take it away when He wishes. However, we should never be disheartened. Instead, we should accept Allah’s decree and also pray to him to make our health better. We should follow the guidelines of the Quran and Sunnah and offer the duas for good health and shifa.
